CORPUS CHRISTI - CITGO and the Notre Dame Club of Corpus Christi will present a FREE CONCERT of the renowned UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME FOLK CHOIR, Thursday, May 31, 7:30 pm in the Performing Arts Center at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi. Led by director J.J. Wright and assistant director Karen Schneider-Kirner, the choir today serves the University of Notre Dame as one of its principal liturgical choirs. The ensemble is comprised of over four dozen men and women’s voices, flute, organ, violin, guitar, string bass, Celtic harp, cello, and percussion. The choir sings traditional and contemporary pieces of sacred music, encouraging the congregation to sing along and praise in communion. The Folk Choir has released nine albums of sacred music and has curates a choral octavo series with World Library Publications in Chicago, IL. More information is available at FolkChoir.nd.edu.
